That meant choosing a fabric that could handle unpredictable weather, rough trails and constant movement, without feeling heavy or restrictive. So we built it around a stretchy ripstop nylon blend that does exactly that.

The Shield range was made from a fabric that avoids those compromises: tough enough for rough trails, flexible enough for movement, and water-repellent without the weight of full waterproofing.

Mountain biking is hard on your kit. It has to withstand crashes, branches and constant abrasion.
The reinforced weave of ShieldTex™ helps stop small tears from spreading if you catch a branch or hit the ground. It is strong enough for crashes, but light enough for long rides.

Riding is not static. You are constantly adjusting position, shifting weight and moving with the terrain.
The 15% spandex blend allows freedom of movement on the bike, whether climbing, descending or moving around the saddle.
